IFIP Working Group 11.8 - Information Security Education and IFIP Working Group 11.1 - Information Security Management invite you to contribute to their activities by submitting papers for presentation and working group topics at their conference to be held in conjunction with the 2013 IFIP International Information Security Conference (SEC2013). Details on the event can be found at http://www.ifiptc11.org/?id=wise8. The conference aims to address interested researchers and educators from universities, industry or government. We will organize the conference around paper presentations and potential working group topics.

The theme for WISE8 is “Information Security Education and Management – best practices”; other relevant topics include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Computer Security and Infrastructure Protection

  • Education of Information Security Professionals
  • Information Systems Auditing
  • International Standards of Security Education and Assessment

  • Holistic Approaches in Information Security Training
  • Experimental Information Security Education and Training
  • Information Security Distance Learning
  • Security Certification Programs

The conference will feature general paper sessions and a working group session. All paper submissions must be made through the EasyChair submission site: https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=wise8. During the submission, you should select “paper” or “workgroup” as the category.

- Submissions for papers should follow the guidelines for full paper submission and will be published in the conference proceedings. The submissions for WISE will be reviewed separately from the SEC2013. For paper formatting, please see the WISE/M conference website: http://www.ifiptc11.org/index.php?id=author Authors are requested to submit original work not previously published; limited to 10 pages, but not less than 6 pages (MS Word or PDF). Papers must be written and presented in English. All submissions will be reviewed double blind and must be submitted in a full and blinded version (author and institution information removed). Submissions instructions are available on the conference website. Selection for publication in the proceedings will be based upon originality, contribution to the field, and relevance to the conference. The conference proceedings will be published and distributed at the conference.

- Submissions for working group topics should describe in ~500 words the topic of the working group, relevance to TC11.8 and TC 11.1, goals during WISE/M, and plan for continued collaboration. Please include the description as an attachment as you would if you were submitting a paper.

Deadline for submission of full papers (up to 8 pages) and working group abstracts 22 March 2013
Notification of authors and Programme Published 22 April 2013
Delivery of Camera-ready papers by authors 06 May 2013
